Divorce Lawyer Pleads No Contest to Sexual Battery

gary.JPGGary Appelblatt, a Sacramento divorce lawyer, pleaded no contest to a charge of sexual battery according to MercuryNews.com.

Appelblatt, who has a pharmacy degree in addition to his law license, told clients that he needed to touch them as part of a medical procedure during their divorce consultation. He was initially charged with 13 counts and pleaded no contest to four counts of sexual battery and one count of attempted sexual contact.

Appelblatt could spend up to 18 months in jail on the attempted sexual contact charge.

Avvo.com, a lawyer rating service, indicates that Mr. Appelblatt is “very good.” I assume that’s a reference to his legal skills.

Gary, dude, this isn’t okay. You’re giving us all a bad name and we resent it. Your conduct is offensive. We’re fighting an uphill battle for respect already. You didn’t help us out at all and we are outraged.
