Take the Agony out of Flying

family law flights

I’ve been flying quite a bit lately. I’m not complaining—I get more done in airplanes than I ever do on the ground. It’s a great place to focus.

Some people tell me they have to put on headphones to keep nearby passengers from engaging them in conversation. I shaved my head. Shaving your head really helps to keep people from bothering you. Try it: you’ll see that I’m right.

To find my flights, I’ve been using hipmunk. It’s a new search engine that organizes the flight search results based on criteria you select.

You can ask hipmunk to organize its results based on a number of criteria. My favorite is “misery.” Hipmunk orders the flights from least to most miserable, and it really helps. It moves flights that take longer, that have long layovers, etc. to the bottom of the list. You can specifically have hipmunk rank flights based on price, stops, departure time, arrival time, and duration. You can sort by any of these priorities, but “misery” pretty much works for me.

The other thing it does that I really like is group the flights by price. Instead of forcing you to click through five pages of flights all with the same price, it groups them together and makes the best flight visible. You can always drill down and see the other flights if you wish, but it puts the best one right on top so you can’t miss it.

Once you’ve selected a flight, hipmunk directs you to the airline or agency selling the flight at the right price. Hipmunk only finds you the flight: it doesn’t sell you the ticket.

Give hipmunk a try and see if you can avoid a little misery. It’s quick and easy and could make a big difference on the day you spend flying.

I think you mean “agony” (not “misery”) right? :) Either way, thank you very much for the writeup. Glad to see that our agony-free approach to flight search continues winning folks over.

Good point, yes agony, not misery. Thanks for reading. I just got off a flight I found with your service. Thanks for making it available.
