About Lee

Hi, I’m Lee Rosen, and I’m behind what you’re seeing here.

I started off writing for family law attorneys, but I’ve found that lots of attorneys in other practice areas, as well as small business leaders, find my material useful. I started practicing law years ago. After three years as an associate, I broke away and formed Rosen Law Firm. We’ve grown to five offices serving Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest and Cary, North Carolina.

Each year with my firm has been different. We rarely repeat the same year twice. I love experimenting, tweaking and changing. I’ve tried lots of management techniques, marketing approaches, and more technology ideas than I can remember. Some experiments have worked, many haven’t. I’ve learned amazing things along the way, and it’s great to be able to pass along my experience.

This is my “About” page so I should tell you about myself. For more than a decade, I served as the Law Practice Management Editor of Family Advocate, a publication of the American Bar Association, Family Law Section. A few years ago the ABA gave me the ABA James Keane Award for excellence in eLawyering. That was pretty awesome.

I’m a former Chairperson of the Law Practice Management Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. I’ve served as a contributor to Lawyers Weekly, TechnoLawyer, and other legal publications.

I travel full-time and work remotely. Much of our team does the same. I’ve worked from about fifty countries. I’ve learned a tremendous amount by employing the technology and management approaches that make remote work possible.
