About

Divorce Discourse and Rosen Institute are about bringing you more and better clients, helping you and your team be more productive, deliver better service and do it with the latest and greatest technology.

You deserve a practice that runs systematically, pays you what you’re worth and doesn’t keep you up for sleepless nights.

The ABA Journal honored Divorce Discourse for five years in a row by including it in the annual Blawg 100 list. Divorce Discourse is now in the ABA Journal Blawg 100 Hall of Fame.

Divorce Discourse is marketing, management, technology and finance advice for legal professionals. It’s written by a family law attorney who shares insights into the daily struggle to find new clients and manage the existing caseload.

Divorce Discourse is for you if you’ve ever worried about getting new clients, being more productive, generating more revenues, networking, building an online presence, managing a team, budgeting or technology issues.

You’ve come to the right place if you’re looking to take your practice to the next level and keep things moving in the right direction.

About Lee

Hi, I’m Lee Rosen, and I’m behind what you’re seeing here.

I started off writing for family law attorneys, but I’ve found that lots of lawyers in other practice areas, as well as small business leaders, find my material useful. I started practicing law years ago. After three years as an associate, I broke away and formed Rosen Law Firm. We’ve grown to five offices serving Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest and Cary, North Carolina.

Each year with my firm has been different. We rarely repeat the same year twice. I love experimenting, tweaking and changing. I’ve tried lots of management techniques, marketing approaches, and more technology ideas than I can remember. Some experiments have worked, many haven’t. I’ve learned amazing things along the way, and it’s great to be able to pass along my experience.

For more than a decade, I served as the Law Practice Management Editor of Family Advocate, a publication of the American Bar Association, Family Law Section. A few years ago the ABA gave me the ABA James Keane Award for excellence in eLawyering as a result of our online services and use of technology.

I’m a former Chairperson of the Law Practice Management Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. I’ve served as a contributor to Lawyers Weekly, TechnoLawyer, and other legal publications.

I travel full-time with my wife Lisa. We both work remotely (Lisa writes novels). Much of our law firm team works remotely as well. I’ve worked from nearly sixty countries and learned a tremendous amount by employing the technology and management approaches that make remote work possible.
