Podcast: Time to Double Down or Quit?

You’ve established a practice, and you’re playing the long game, trying to make it on your own.

But you wonder whether entrepreneurialism was meant for you. How do you definitively gauge whether you should double down and push your practice to the next level or open a new browser tab and start searching for a job?

Most of us don’t know whether we’re winning or failing, and we try to decide by comparing ourselves to other successful people. We notice the cars they’re driving and the vacations they’re taking. We count the number of associates other firms employ.

These “measurements” aren’t objective though, and they’re terrible ways of evaluating your own success.

I started my firm three years out of law school with minimal experience. My business wasn’t booming, and to call it a humble beginning is putting it kindly.

However, I did have a gauge for deciding whether it was time for me to work harder or give up. You need a plan. Hit play and start making yours.
